The project
The design sought calm, intimacy and a timeless, old-world warmth. A long-neglected backyard became the turning point of the project. Once opened up, it redefined the home’s relationship with light and nature.
An outdoor pergola, layered with plants and filtered daylight, was introduced as an in-between space, neither fully inside nor outside. It brought greenery close, softened edges, and allowed light to travel deep into the house, creating a gentle indoor–outdoor connection. The living and dining spaces now open towards this green pause, their character shaped by shifting light, texture and shadow.
Inside, a restrained palette, natural materials and tactile fabrics create a warm, lived-in atmosphere: spaces that feel quietly elegant and meant to be inhabited. In a dense urban setting, the house turns inward, finding its strength in stillness, light, and the everyday presence of nature.
