The project
There is an effortless sense of calm to this Delhi farmhouse, where the architecture and interiors are closely attuned to the expansive landscape around them. Originally built in the early nineties, the house has evolved into a warm, contemporary retreat, retaining its inherent character while being thoughtfully reworked for modern living.
The interiors are intentionally understated, allowing art, natural materials and collected objects to create the personality of each space. Existing pieces were given new life alongside contemporary furniture, decorative lighting, vintage Naga tables and sculptural wooden elements. Large artworks bring colour and depth, while the warmth of exposed brick and soft, neutral surfaces keeps the atmosphere relaxed and grounded.
Beyond the rooms, the landscape becomes an integral part of the experience. Rolling lawns, mature trees and orchards surround the house, with peacocks often making an appearance. It is a home shaped as much by its setting as by its interiors—quiet, informal and deeply connected to the landscape.
