A Nook Home

Tucked away amid the heritage buildings of Colaba, NOOK is an old home wrapped in greenery and quiet. Its generous ceiling heights, sunlit balconies and original roshandans filtering in soft light held all the character we wanted to preserve.

No architectural changes were made. The original English marble flooring was retained and repolished, while a mix of contemporary and classic furniture, rich materials and twentieth-century influences brought the interiors back to life.

The living room takes a more dramatic turn, layered in deep hues, a floral Sabyasachi wallpaper, an antique chandelier and a striking Gorjala artwork. Elsewhere, lighter tones create a softer rhythm, with mirror, marble and touches of colour adding moments of glamour.

The design is a play of contrasts—old and new, bold and restrained, matt and gloss—allowing the original character of the house to remain at the heart of the story.
