The project
Designed for a couple who share a passion for deep-sea diving and entertaining, THE PARTY PAD is a playful second home built around a shipwreck-inspired narrative. Salvaged objects from the sea, repurposed furniture and nautical curiosities are layered with colour, texture and unexpected materials.
The half-open kitchen is designed for interaction, with louvred doors concealing the working kitchen while the extended counter becomes part of the living space. In the den, a compass embedded into the coffee table adds another subtle reference to the owners’ love of the sea.
The games room takes a more industrial turn, with a pool table at its center, exposed brick, concrete surfaces, pipework and a repurposed ship window creating a wonderfully raw backdrop.
Mid-century forms, old-English details and salvaged pieces come together with a touch of irreverence. The result is an eclectic, tactile home designed, above all, for good times.
